I’m Positively Positive

I have spent a good portion of my life being a pessimist.  I loved to come up with all the reasons why life was terrible.  I would sabotage everything I did so that it would fail and I could point out the proof of my beliefs.  I think a lot of us do this.  It is the easy way to go because it’s easy to point at failure and make it define us.  It is easy to fail if you want to.  I’m not saying that failure is a bad thing; we need to fail in order to learn.  Failure becomes detrimental when we refuse to learn from it and try again.  Failure becomes draining when we work to purposely do it, whether it’s a conscious decision or not.  Every day is a chance to learn something new.  Every day is a chance to get up and take on the world and succeed.  Every day is a chance to choose to be positive in the face of adversity.  We can get up and list why our life is unbearable, or we can get up and see the moment for what it is and make the most of it.  Every moment is a chance to start again, so you don’t have to wait for the next day!  That is something that blows my mind every time.  If you get yourself into the moment you have the chance to make it great.

Life will always throw curve balls.  Nothing is meant to be easy, but just because something is hard doesn’t mean it is a bad thing.  Every curve ball is a chance to open new possibilities and every encounter is a chance to form a life long relationship.  There are toxic people out there and it is smart to stay away from them, but there are many good people out there who are struggling just like you and me.  Everyone has a battle they are fighting and everyone has decisions to make daily.  Remember this as you encounter people in your day-to-day life and make an effort to be kind.  Be positive in all that you do because that positivity will flow from your mind to all other aspects of your life.  Being positive can transcend yourself and spread to those around you, enhancing their lives as well.  It’s a choice that you can make.
